Double posting my photos

Recently I’ve neglected to post any new photos here because:

  1. I’m having so much fun with my Photo-A-Day project (28 days so far!)
  2. Flickr is so fun I never want to leave
  3. I recently got an Xbox 360 (it won’t be a problem I swear)
  4. Work has been hectic
  5. I’ve been busy eating chicken
  6. It’s currently a pain not as easy as it should be—see below.

Since I upload my shots to Flickr and manage it all there (instead of here via WordPress), I essentially have to double post it (there and here via WP) and that sucks.

I really want to have my photos appear in both places because 1) the Flickr community is awesome (you too could be awesome, just sign up and add me as a contact), and 2) I know people rarely occasionally check DJLein.com for updates (or follow it via RSS or email) and don’t want to check yet another site. Very understandable.

I’ve got a ghetto solution in place right now (see my Photos section). That and you can always subscribe to my Flickr RSS feed directly.

PS – I’m also taking suggestions on how best to remedy this. Hint: Use the comments section.

I would use Flickr more but then I’d have to pay them and that ain’t happenin’.

Why would you have to pay them? Unless you upload more than 100MB/month or want more than 3 sets, it’s free.

And I just got my Flickr pro account as a gift from a friend, so even then I didn’t have to pay. :)

Yeah I have 3 sets already so that is why.

Perhaps you just need to re-strategize the way you use sets? Don’t be so specific–go a bit broader.

Maybe combine ‘Wedding’ and ‘Maui’ into ‘Wedding & Honeymoon’ and rename ‘Halloween 2007′ to something like ‘Parties’ or ‘Friends’. Lastly, use your third set for whatever you like!

    You and your logic.

Yes I could do that, but eventually and inevitably I will need more than 3 sets and I am unwilling to pay a fee for such a trivial “service.”

Inevitably? Really? I made it 3 years with just three sets and I’m a photo dork.

I’m just sayin, don’t not use Flickr more because of this impending fear that you’ll get sucked in and have to pay. It’s the ill-na-na and you can enjoy it now for free.

    Don’t be scurred. :)

    Hey dispatch00! About your photostream…

You have 173 photos stored on Flickr. Once you hit 200, you’ll need to upgrade to a Flickr Pro account or you’ll only be able to see your most recent 200 photos.

Boo hoo. It’s all about sharing the now, not the years ago.

Get out and just do it. ;)
